Testimonies
At Blainville, updating our data is a daily task. Our city has one of the highest population growth in Quebec, we had to find a way to update quickly and profitably our inventories infrastructure. It is with the help of accurate mobile mapping services offered by Trifid Group we are able to meet this daily challenge. With a level 3 (multiple views for inventory survey, conducted with GeoAutomation technology), our staff is able to update our infrastructure inventory accurately and validate data of our as built plans.
For Repentigny, the use of mobile mapping allowed to make giant step in implementing its GIS action plan. Combined with the expertise of the Trifid Group, the GeoAutomationTM technology has allowed us to build and update various inventory items at a fraction of the cost of traditional municipal inventories. In addition, this heritage of visual data contributes significantly to the knowledge of the territory. Many municipal employees commonly used Google Streetview as part of their function. Today, they have at their fingertips the most relevant and intelligent data 4D. A step away to make Repentigny a virtual city!
In the summer of 2014, Plessisville city used the services of Trifide Group to update its intervention plan related to the city infrastructure, where we needed to redo our entire inventory. Since traditional methods would have taken long time and very expensive, the City took the decision to use mobile mapping technology. This is how Trifide Group gave us a big hand to map new interesting new objects and update our existing inventory. All City managers have now access via the LAN, that facilitates decision making.

Victoriaville acquired the GeoAutomation 3D images in 2014, which allowed us to bring the field into our screens, and to be much more productive with fewer resources. We use it for our urban planning needs, legal, engineering and territory management in addition to validate and enhance our mapping inventory.
Using this mobile mapping technology, mainly allowed us to optimize our surveying operations, to reduce substantially field interventions, and to have quick execution and response time to our clientele. These are major benefits for us.
This technology allowed us not only to quickly map our infrasturctures, we are able to publish on our intranet the images via our interactive map. It is a must to various municipal players to have easy acces.
The study we conducted allows us to say, in addition to the inventory component, the input method can be advantageously used as a technical survey for the preparation of plans for preliminary studies. The ease and speed with which one can take the photographs are assets that promote the use of this method. The service could also extend the period of collecting information on an annual basis.
Mobile mapping available to municipal employees resulted in a significant reduction in travel. Another important asset, the regular passage of this technology keeps the history of the evolution of our country.
By allowing us to disseminate more widely GeoAutomation &trade images, municipal employees will save time and improve the effectiveness of their interventions. We are very proud to have contributed to the development of this compatibility and have the opportunity to be pioneers in this field.
